Apiary Experience Session

Time in one of our apiaries experiencing hands on beekeeping

Service Description

Spend some time in our apiary inspecting a colony of honeybees. Learn the basics of beekeeping and get a flavour of what beekeeping entails. We run these session as follows: • 10:00 Arrivals & Introductions • 10:15 Look at some hive equipment and discuss general beekeeping history and kit. • 10:30 Get togged up for the apiary. • 10:45 Enter the Apiary and inspect a hive. • 11:30 Q&A Session • 12:00 Session Close Please, please come along armed with as many questions so that you get the most from the session. This is not a formal event and it is relaxed about what we cover. Most important, enjoy the session! We are looking forward to seeing you

Cancellation Policy

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: • Our events are extremely popular, and we aim to ensure that everybody enjoys the experience. • If you book an event but wish to change the date of attendance, we will try and accommodate you at an alternative event. Please contact us at info@bvbeeks.co.uk a minimum of 72 hrs before the due date. • Please note that 25% of any paid fee is non-refundable if attendance is cancelled before the event date. • We are unable to offer a refund for events cancelled within 72hrs of the event. • This event IS NOT suitable for anyone with an allergy to bees or honey. • The events are dependent on clear weather and if it is necessary to combine or move an event, we will contact you and arrange an alternative booking. • We provide suits/veils and gloves, but you MUST attend in o wellington or other flat boots so the apiary outfit can seal against your legs o long sleeved top (blouse or shirt) • Bees do sting. you are expected to behave as the beekeeper instructs and being stung is at your own risk. • No one has been stung to date, and we want everyone to be able to participate in the live hive visit. However, if you are aware of a hypersensitivity to bee stings it must be entirely at your own discretion/risk to participate in the live hive visit. If you use an Epi-pen, please make us aware and have it to hand.
